Description: The Princeton University Library seeks to fill a one-year term position of Social Science Librarian. This individual will work both independently and collaboratively with other social science librarians in the provision of research consultation services, library instruction sessions, and collection development activities. This position will have special responsibility for providing library services and collections to students and faculty engaged in political science and public policy research.

Qualifications:
Required: ALA-accredited master’s degree in library science, or graduate degree in a social science; prior experience working in an academic, research, or special library; demonstrated teaching experience; demonstrated understanding of collection development practices in academic libraries; proven ability to work both independently and cooperatively in a team environment; exceptional communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
Preferred: degree or substantial coursework in political science or related field.
Term and Appointment: Funding for a one-year term currently available; longer term possible based on obtaining additional funding as well as mutual agreement of the parties. The successful candidate will be appointed to a professional specialist rank depending upon qualifications and experience for an initial term of one year with the option for annual renewal and will be a member of the Research & Instructional Services Department in Firestone Library

Compensation and Benefits: Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience and accomplishments. Two (2) vacation days per month, designated paid holidays.
