Join us in METRO’s Online Training Center on Monday, June 21st from 1:00pm-2:00pm for the second installment of our Summer webinar series. “Expanding the Digital Library Program Within the Institution: Turning Curators into Publishers” will explore the Columbia University Libraries’ strategies for increasing online access to special collections using open source software. Joanna DiPasquale, Web and New Technologies Developer at Columbia, will discuss the libraries’ use of Fedora and Omeka to put curatorial staff in control of a collection-oriented Web publishing tool, while ensuring adherence to best practices. She will also address the needs, implementation, and “lessons learned” over the course of the project.
